Who will my information be shared with?

Any personal data given to the Guildford Institute, either online or offline, will be used exclusively by the Guildford Institute. We will treat the personal information that you have supplied to us in accordance with the current legislation, and will not pass it to any outside organisation or individuals.

Those joining the mailing list, enrolling onto an activity or becoming a member will be added to the Guildford Institute’s database.

What data does the Guildford Institute hold and retain?

The Guildford Institute does not capture and store any traceable personal information about individuals who access their website, except where you voluntarily choose to give us your personal details.

The personal data that is retained is limited to the following: name, title, gender, postal address, email address, telephone number(s) and, in a reduced number of cases, age.

For financial reasons, the personal data of members and donors is retained. In addition, a record of events and activities attended by individuals within the past four years is held on our system.

Historical data relating to former mailing list subscribers or students is held securely for four years, following which the data is shredded onsite and/or deleted from our database.

Your personal information rights:

  • You have the right to highlight your preferences in regard to future communications and to have these respected.
  • You have a right to know about the personal information that the Guildford Institute holds about you and can request a copy of this information.
  • You also have a right to have your data corrected or deleted at any time.
