Profile

Born and raised in India, Benisha moved to the UK in 2023, bringing a rich cultural heritage with her.  She completed her B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering in India before transitioning to a career that aligns more with her passions, currently working as an Activity Coordinator in a care home where she finds immense fulfillment in enriching the lives of others. She has also volunteered for 2nd Royal Gurkha Rifles, as a proud family of Gurkha soldiers.  She contributed to the regiment’s outreach by painting a series of works that reflect the history, culture and dance forms of Imphal- an experience that allowed her to merge her love for art and respect for her country’s history.  An avid Indian classical dancer, also embracing athleticism, Benisha has represented her school and college in district as well as nationals in India. A passionate individual driven by the desire to give back to the community, she is a proud wife and daughter of Gurkha soldiers; this connection to service and duty inspires her to volunteer at The Guildford Institute.  During her search for volunteer roles, she came across The Guildford Institute and was truly touched by the warm and welcoming environment they offer. She volunteers at the front desk, greeting and interacting with visitors and making them feel welcome with a warm smile and positive energy.
